Picture this: The Inn at Bay Harbor, up in the woods and lakeshore of northern Michigan. Anna + Cory were married during a weekend celebrating their love and the support of their family and friends at The Inn at Bay Harbor. There was no lack of gorgeous scenery and meaningful moments to capture. Anna + Cory’s wedding was defined by a classic elegance and I enjoyed filming it all. It’s always a pleasure teaming up with one of my favorite photographers, Breanne, with Breanne Rochelle Photography. We work well together and have a lot of fun in the process.

The ceremony was held at the National Shrine of the Cross in the Woods in Indian River, Michigan. It was really special to film in this beautiful setting. The large sanctuary featured floor-to-ceiling windows highlighting the beautiful woods and the cross in the distance. The ceremony was simple, yet elegant. Anna looked stunning in her sleek mermaid-cut wedding dress, and Cory paired perfectly in a formal tuxedo.
We snuck in some pictures and more filming between the ceremony and reception on a bluff above Lake Michigan. The color of the water made for a beautiful setting, and the light breeze gave just enough lift to Anna’s veil for some great filming.

The reception was held at Inn at Bay Harbor in Bay Harbor, Michigan. It was about a 40 minute drive from the ceremony, but completely worth it because the Inn at Bay Harbor is an incredible location. It boasts a 45-hole championship golf course, impeccable accommodations and endless views of Lake Michigan. The reception was in a light-filled tent on the grounds and Anna + Cory were greeted with their guests waving Terrible Towels, the signature of a dedicated Pittsburg Steeler fan, and a nod to their heritage. From there the guests ate a lovely dinner, there was dancing and celebrating, and meaningful toasts. Anna + Cory’s four-layered cake was unique and told a story of their relationship in colorful fondant.

I enjoyed the unique aspects of Anna + Cory’s wedding. Every detail was attended to, and the setting made for beautiful filming and cinematography.
We asked Anna + Cory a few questions about their wedding. Read below.
What are requested shots you'd like us to capture?
Cake - we did a sort of montage of our relationship. Each tier is a different location that's meaningful to us. The bottom tier is Michigan and Pittsburgh (where we each grew up). The middle tier is Phoenix/AZ (where we met and have lived for the past 6+ years). The next tier is Hawaii (where we got engaged and will be honeymooning). The top tier and a few other details in the cake are a subtle shot out to our favorite TV show, Game of Thrones.
