The historic Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island is northern Michigan at its very best, and weddings are unforgettable at this popular destination. Mission Point can accommodate every need—from large wedding parties with accommodations to intimate rehearsal dinners to hair, make up and nails in the on-site Lakeside Spa and Salon—every detail is taken care of by the experienced wedding experts. Even the groom and groomsmen can enjoy some golf, tennis and boating before the event.
Lake Huron, in its refreshing cool tones, gives a focal point to the sprawling grounds of the sunrise-side of the legendary Mackinac Island. I loved recording all the details and important moments of Katie + Riley’s wedding day. To have experience documenting weddings at Mission Point Resort, I knew which of the many settings to choose from would highlight the beauty of their day. The flowers, the cobbled paths, the sprawling front lawn, horse-drawn carriages and crisp white gazebo highlighted the vintage-feel of this modern resort.

Experienced Mackinac photographer, Andrejka Photography, shot the stills for Katie + Riley and together we made an experienced team with a plan, yet freedom to capture the details as they unfolded. After the ceremony in the gazebo, we loved the Cypress Room that held the reception. Its rustic, yet classic styling, can accommodate up to 250 guests and offers a sweeping view of Lake Huron. In the warm summer months the party can spill out onto the room’s private outdoor patio. For an outdoor reception, the Courtside Patio also has panoramic views of Lake Huron and is decorated with the impeccable gardens and landscaping.

What Makes a Wedding Complete?
The Mission Point Resort has multiple wedding venues, and each has its unique features. However, even with the best venue, your wedding will be incomplete without a professional cinematographer.
My advice if you’re considering a destination wedding to Mackinac Island is to hire an experienced wedding videographer. 97 Films is proud to have captured the beauty and bliss of destination weddings at Mission Point. Because of my familiarity with the resort and its amenities, the camera rolls without hiccups or aimless wandering looking for that special spot. I know how to make the beauty of your wedding last forever when hosted at Mission Point Resort.
