Zingerman’s Cornman Farms Tiny Wedding

Kelly and Sean’s wedding was little, lovely, and everything the two had hoped for! Both knew that they wanted an intimate venue with just close family and friends, so after learning about the The Tiny Wedding at Zingerman's Cornman Farms in Dexter Michigan, their hearts were set on it. The cute farm ceremony was held outside, under a beautifully decorated tent with a stunning flower backdrop. The colorful assortment of lemon yellows, punchy pinks, dusty blues, and fresh greens in the flowers made a beautiful backdrop for bride and groom and also complimented the men in the family’s ties and women’s dresses. Kelly, of course, stole the show with her elegant long sleeved lace white gown. Their ceremony was captured perfectly by Hannah from Lola Grace Photography.

Considering it was a tiny wedding, and there were multiple weddings in the same weekend, the couple added a few unique touches to make their ceremony extra special and stand out. One way they accomplished this was by having their niece walk down the aisle carrying a sign that said, “Uncle Sean, here comes your bride.” After the ceremony, Chelsea Brown Photography took beautiful photographs of the couple and their friends in Ann Arbor. It's always a blast getting to work with such cool and talented photographers! Later on in the evening Kelly and Sean hosted their small reception at Sava’s which was just incredible.

Kelly and Sean are the perfect example of a truly modern love story. The couple met over the summer when they were both home from college after matching with each other on a dating app! Check out the Q&A below if you want to hear more about the bride and groom and their special day:

How did you two meet?

We met during the summer when I (Kelly) was home from college. I had gotten a job for the season at Home Depot in Brighton and there were quite a bit of college kids working there. Sean started in a different department about a month after I had started. We had started hanging out as a large group with the other college aged kids and then we both ended up matching with one another on a dating app. We really started talking more once we had matched on the dating app, since neither of us knew one another's social media or had each others phone number.

How did he/she propose?

Sean proposed at an apple orchard that he had grown up going to. He had planned to go apple picking but due to the weather they had closed down the apple picking and the pumpkin picking that day. So we ended up getting some cider and donuts and walked through the apple trees. At one point Sean pointed and asked what kind of apple was on a tree as a distraction so that when I turned around he was on one knee and proposed. It was just the two of us that went to the apple orchard. We both are not huge on mass amounts of attention and Sean had said he wanted it to be more intimate.

What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning?

I really didn't have a vision prior to planning, I found planning very overwhelming! I think all flowers are pretty and I don't really have a favorite haha so I was happy to have any. I had small details that I wanted to incorporate but was so happy with the venue that we found because they took care of all the décor and flower elements. I just had to show up!

What is one piece of advice that you could give couples-to-be?

Stay true to who you are as a couple, especially when planning your wedding. You can't please everyone. The more you can make the day reflect who you are as a couple and your values the happier the day will be for you and the more memories you can share together.
